The Canadian Journal of History/Annales canadiennes d'histoire presents original and innovative scholarship from all fields of non-Canadian history. Each issue normally features:
Three feature articles -- original scholarship by historical specialists
Review articles by leading scholars analysing "the state of the question" and the body of recent literature on important or illuminating topics.
Sixty reviews of the latest historical research that has been published in a wide variety of fields.
The Canadian Journal of History/Annales canadiennes d'histoire annually awards the CJH Graduate Essay Prize of $500 for the best article submitted by a student at a Canadian university or of Canadian citizenship. The essay must be based on original research and meet scholarly standards, and must deal with a non-Canadian historical topic. Suggested length not over 35 pages double-spaced, notes included. Please send your submission by e-mail attachment to the address below. The winning entry will be published in the Canadian Journal of History/Annales canadiennes d'histoire. Entries will be judged by the journal editors, editorial board members, and by outside specialists.
Submissions deadline: 15 September 2011. The results will be announced in the Winter 2011 issue; the winning entry will be published in the Spring/Summer issue 2012.

All submissions are scrutinized by the editor, by at least one other member of our editorial or advisory boards, and by outside readers (in most cases, two). The Canadian Journal of History is indexed in Historical Abstracts and America: History and Life.
