Greetings from the HRAUWC President

Hello there,

On behalf of the HRAUWC Executive and as a senior HR leader in Western Canadian universities, I am writing to urge you to consider attending this year’s HRAUWC conference in Saskatoon.

I’ve attended almost every HRAUWC conference since 1990. And, I look forward to them every year. They are an opportunity to share and catch up with colleagues, make new acquaintances, gain contacts for work and put faces to names, and engage in learning opportunities from the always varied presenters.

Of course, being an HR group, there is always an attentiveness to dedicated time to talk and share experiences, good and difficult, and to have fun! Fun is an integral element to a HRAUWC conference and nobody does it better than Saskatchewan!

The smaller size of the HRAUWC conference ensures it is comfortable, and the consequent level of sharing achieved is phenomenal.

Please take the time to attend again or for the first time. And, encourage others to do so as well.

We look forward to seeing you in Saskatoon!

Greetings from the Associate Vice-President (Human Resources), University of Saskatchewan

Welcome to our colleagues from across Western Canada! It is a pleasure to invite you to HRAUWC 2005: Change at the Speed of Light.

This theme is especially appropriate at a period in which HR departments must be on the leading edge of change in their organizations. Our challenge is to lead and facilitate change, foster innovation and growth, and add value to organizations. For our profession, the most exciting change is that we are reinvigorated by more young professionals joining our ranks every year.

This conference is a golden opportunity for fostering professional growth and relationships. We would be remiss indeed if we did not especially encourage our newest recruits, our current and future leaders, to participate. So we welcome both senior and new HR professionals to our conference, and hope we have something for all of you.

I hope that the question as to whether this conference should be an annual event will be settled this year. Saskatoon has hosted memorable HRAUWC adventures in the past. This year our vision is to build on that success to bring you exciting sessions, great networking opportunities and other activities, in a beautiful environment, for a conference you will never forget.

Best regards,

Barb Daigle
Associate Vice-President(Human Resources)
University of Saskatchewan
