
“Exempt” refers to Staff who are exempt from membership in a bargaining unit by virtue of their job duties and who are primarily paid from the University's operating budget. This group does not include senior administrators (Deans, Associate Deans, Associate Vice Presidents, etc.) or people hired under research funds. If the "Permanent or Seasonal" member has an appointment of half-time or greater they are eligible to participate in various University benefit plans as outlined in the plan summaries.
