New Benefits Provider

Effective July 1, 2012, Sun Life Financial is the University of Saskatchewan's consolidated group benefits plans. This includes basic life and health benefits provided to the various university employee groups, researchers and their employees, and all others enrolled in the university benefit plans.

Note: The service provider for the Voluntary Group Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment benefit plans did not change as part of the transition to Sun Life, as the University of Saskatchewan Faculty Association remains as the plan holder.

All claims now go to Sun Life
All claim expenses, including those incurred before July 1, 2012, should be sent to Sun Life. (Do not send to Blue Cross. A print error in the My Coverage Guide indicated September 29, 2012).

HSA balances are now availableand claims my be submitted online at mysunlife.ca.

Most Requested Information...

• All current coverage for employees remains the same with Sun Life.
• Personal (formerly Wellness) Spending Account claims should now be submitted to Sun Life (rather than to the university)
• Spouse/Partner and Children all-in-one coverage cards can be printed off the my Sun Life website beginning July 1 at mysunlife.ca
• Pre-determinations from Blue Cross will be honored. Attach a copy of the pre-determination with your claim at mysunlife.ca
• All claim inquiries should be directed to the Sun Life Customer Care Centre at 1-866-896-6976

New employees are encouraged to attend a benefits session within one month of the employment start date.
