
The costs of recruitment must not be an obstacle to the recruitment of the strongest candidates possible. For positions which will be funded from the University's Operating Budget, the University will reimburse from central funds all reasonable costs associated with the recruitment process, including entertainment costs.
Interview costs for up to three external candidates will be covered from central sources for tenure track, continuing and without term positions. For limited term positions, interview costs for one external candidate will be covered by central sources. Deans have signing authority on the central recruitment account for ‘standard’ recruitment expenses. If expenses exceed the guidelines provided below, or if additional candidates are invited for interviews, then interview costs must be covered by college or department resources.
It is expected that deans, department heads and others involved in the interview process will respect the following guidelines:
