
A person who is not a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident must obtain authorization to work in Canada in the form of a work permit or permanent resident status.
Federal immigration regulations require that Canadians and permanent residents be given first opportunity for positions for which they are qualified and available. All applicants will be evaluated against the criteria established by the search committee at the beginning of the process.
If you are a foreign worker, when you arrive at the University to begin employment, you must provide a copy of your work permit to your department or Human Resources.

Your offer of employment will indicate whether you are eligible for reimbursement of any moving expenses. Please note the following regarding the moving expense provision:
The University agrees to assist new employees in defraying moving expenses. The moving expenses shall be calculated as follows:
No moving expenses of any kind shall be paid if the candidate declines the offer of employment or is denied entry into Canada by Immigration authorities.
Proper (original) receipts and other appropriate documents must support all claims for reimbursement of these expenses. Claims should be presented to Human Resources (Attention: Loda Mae Voisey).
Please contact Gwen Arseneault with PREMIER VAN LINES at 1-800-465-0000 or Cheryl Caissie with ARMSTRONG INTERNATIONAL MOVERS at 1-888-670-4400 and indicate you are a new University employee. You will need to indicate that the University of Saskatchewan is a CAUBO member institution, and you wish to use services under the respective agreements. The mover will then arrange through its agent in your area for an in-home survey and provide an estimate. Please refer to the CAUBO website for more information.
You pay the mover directly and present the paid invoice to Human Resources for reimbursement to the maximum outlined above. Please note that payment options (cash, credit card, certified cheque, etc.) may vary among movers.
Please ensure when you book your moving company that they are aware of your requirement for a proper receipt. The invoice should be marked “Paid in Full” by cheque, cash, or credit card.
