IT Tips For Back to School

Top ten IT tips to get your school year off to a smooth start.

  • Get your laptop or mobile devices connected to the university’s Wi-Fi network. 
  • Set up your usask email on your mobile devices.
  • Enroll in the Microsoft Student Advantage program to download and install the latest Microsoft Office software on up to five computers at no cost! 
  • Access free online Training videos such as SPSS Essential, Advanced Excel, Photoshop CC for Web Design, Accounting Foundations and thousands of additional titles available 
  • Personalize your USASK email address. The default <Yournsid>@mail.usask.ca is not very memorable or exciting email address. Set up an email alias with your first and last name.
  • Create password recovery options for your PAWS account. Don’t forget to verify your cell phone number or email addresses as password recovery options. 
  • Download AlertUS, the U of S emergency notification app.
  • Purchase or top up your printing (CPAS) credit at select locations. Under “Learn More”, find out when you can ask for printing refund.
  • Access up to 50GB of individual file storage through Cabinet.
