Email - Set-up Guide Windows 8/8.1/RT

This is the setup guide for campus.usask.ca (also known as mail.usask.ca) email on Windows 8 RT tablets.

Prerequisites:

  • The following instructions are based on Windows 8 RT. 

  • If you have not already created an email alias for your nsid@campus.usask.ca (or nsid@mail.usask.ca) email account, please create one.

Email Setup Guide

  • Tap Mail from your Metro UI or start screen:

select Mail from Metro UI

  • Swipe right from edge of screen to open the Charm bar; then tap Settings.

  • Tap Accounts.

  • Tap Add an account.

select add account

  • Tap Exchange.

select Outlook

  • Tap Show more details.

select Show more details link

  • Enter in the below details; then tap Connect

    • Email address: your email address (i.e. joe.smith@usask.ca or abc123@campus.usask.ca)

    • Server address: campus.usask.ca

    • Domain: USASK

    • Username: your NSID (i.e. abc123)

    • Password: your NSID password

enter in the following information

  • Tap Enforce these policies

select Enforce these Policies

Changing the Amount to Synchronize

By default the Mail application will sync email only from the last 2 weeks.  If you want to change this frequency, do the following:
  • Swipe right from edge of screen to open the Charm bar; then tap Settings.

swipe over from right end to open the menu then select settings

  • Tap Accounts.

select accounts

  • Tap your USASK account (if you are not already in that account)

  • Tap the down arrow for Download email from.

  • tap the frequency you want to see (i.e. if you want to see everything, tap Any time)

select how much to show
