Individual File Storage (cabinet)

Access to individual storage is available to all students, instructors, researchers and employees at the U of S. You can access your files on campus or remotely.

Getting Started

You can access your file storage service from your own computer by "mapping" or "mounting" a drive to Cabinet. This simple, one-time operation will give you immediate access to Cabinet every time you start up your computer and connect to the university's network.

You can access your files from PAWS.

You can access your files with an iPad.

Protect Your Files

Your files are confidential and private and only accessible via your NSID and password.

In order to help protect your files and keep them secure:

  • Keep your password a secret.
  • Ensure you log out before leaving your workstation.
  • Save your work to Cabinet frequently.

For training on using Cabinet, see ICT Training Services.

There may be times when networks are unavailable due to scheduled service upgrades. Sometimes there are problems with the service that result in service outages.
