Please note that the TurningPoint Clicker service is no longer supported at the U of S. It has been replaced with an alternative student response system called Top Hat.

Top Hat provides access through individual’s mobile phone, tablet or laptop and will not require the purchase of clickers. TurningPoint clickers are no longer sold in the Campus Computer Store and the TurningPoint software and receivers have been removed from teaching spaces.

Getting Started with Top Hat

Here's how to get your U of S account set up with Top Hat.  We recommend you do this from a web browser, preferrably on a laptop or desktop computer, not through the Top Hat mobile application on your smart phone.

Faculty, staff and students can sign up for an account on Top Hat at no charge using their U of S credentials by going to:

and selecting the Signup link from the upper right of their page Top Hat Sign Up link in upper right of page

then choosing whether their account is a Student account or a Professor account

Choose Sign Up As Student- left side or Instructor - Right Side

At this point, if you had chosen Professor in the previous step, it will ask you to select your school.   If you chose Student, you will need to click Search By School before you see the following:

Search for "Sask" to locate U of S in the Top Hat school list, and choose University of Saskatchewan (NOT "University of Saskatchewan SSO Bypass". Once you have selected the University of Saskatchewan and clicked Next, you will be taken to a U of S login page  promting you to enter your NSID username and password to create your account on Top Hat.
