Finding and Setting Session ID Numbers

Your clicker app needs to be using the same session ID number as the receiver in the classroom for your responses to be received.

Finding the Session ID Number for Your Class

To find the correct session ID for your class:

  • If you are in a clicker-enabled lecture theatre, you should see a sign at the front of the room listing the room’s channel and session ID numbers. You will need the session ID number only.
  • Your instructor may indicate you need to use a specific session ID for the class.

Setting the Session ID Number on Your Clicker App

To enter a Session ID number into your clicker app:

  1. Start the ResponseWare application on your smart phone.
  2. Check to see if your account information is displayed under Your Account. If not, log in with your ResponseWare user name and password, then click Done.
  3. Under Join a Session, enter the Session ID for your class.
  4. Click Join.

Note: If your instructor has not yet logged in (e.g. if you are in the classroom before your instructor), you may get an error message saying the session does not exist. Simply wait. Once your instructor has logged in, you will see a welcome message and the Session ID will be displayed at the top of the screen.
