Lecture Capture

With lecture capture, you have the technology to promote further participation and engagement in your classes by recording lectures and making them available digitally to your students to review at any time.

Getting Started

Current Instructor Login

To manage your Echo360 recordings visit play.usask.ca and log in with your NSID.

Using the Lecture Capture Service

Lecture capture can be used to capture U of S lectures, presentations or meetings. Recordings can then be accessed for the duration of the class and expire one year after the end of the term.

The service will archive the original recordings for up to five years. If there is a requirement to retrieve the recording, it is the school/department’s responsibility to request, edit and provide access to the lecture.

To use lecture capture:

If you are a student:

Please contact your instructor(s) to ask about recording your classes. Activation of lecture recording can only be requested by the instructor(s).

If you are an instructor:
  1. Ensure your course classroom is equipped with lecture capture software or hardware. See a list of rooms with lecture capture capabilities in the Learn More tab.
  2. If your classroom is equipped with lecture capture technology, email lecturecapture_support@usask.ca including the following information in your email:
    • Instructor name
    • Course name, CRN, and section
    • Classroom
    • Any dates you wish to exclude from the recording schedule
  3. If your classroom is not equipped with lecture capture technology, inform your college student information system contact so they can integrate it through Class Build.

Note: Please allow 5 working days notice for activation of recordings.

If you are new to using the lecture capture service and want to obtain more information about the service, send specific questions via e-mail to the Lecture Capture Service Manager.
