Certificates for uofs-secure Network - Android

The U of S wireles network service uses Security Certificates to ensure security and authenticity.

Your Android device will give you the opportunity to ignore certificate checking when configuring wireless on it. While it is possible to ignore certificate checking, instead of installing and/or using a certificate on your mobile device, you run the risk of using a service that is not genuine or secure.

We recommend you setup your device to use a certificate while connecting to uofs-secure. Newer versions of Android OS have system certificates built into them and should not require you to install one but if your device does not have this feature, please download and install the certificate below.

Certificate to download:

How to install and use the Certificate:

1. Access this page from your Android device.

2. Tap on the DigiCert Global Root CA Certificate link above to download it.

Note: You may need to refresh the page to complete the download.

Once downloaded, you will be prompted to name it

3. Name the Certificate as "DigiCert"

4. Set "Credential use" to "Wi-Fi" (Note: This field does not appear on older Android versions)

5. Click OK.

6. Setup uofs-secure and set the CA Certificate as DigiCert. Complete instructions are here.
