  • Time: 9-12pm
  • Location: Arts 214

Barry Ahenakew and Louise Halfe will be presenting on First Nations Protocols and Teachings. The first twenty-five registrants who attend this session will receive a copy of the book, Cultural Teachings: First Nations Protocols and Methodologies (2009), compliments of the College of Education. Published in consultation with Elders from across Saskatchewan, the book provides “an overview of First Nations’ ceremonial etiquette and protocols [that] will impart general understanding and awareness necessary to attain respectful and appropriate behavior at First Nations’ ceremonies and gatherings” (p. ix). This event is open only to staff and faculty in the College of Education, the Gwenna Moss Centre for Teaching Effectiveness, and the University Learning Centre. Those who are not members of these units are encouraged to register for the afternoon session, which is open to the entire campus community.
