About International Office

Our office coordinates and administers university-wide international activities, such as:

  1. identifying and supporting strategic international partnerships, such as our flagship partnership with Beijing Institute of Technology                    

  2. setting standard operating procedures for the development, renewal and termination of international agreements;

  3. liaising with government offices, industry and other institutions on internationally related issues and missions;

  4. hosting visiting delegations and dignitaries.

Feeding a Hungry World - International projects led by University of Saskatchewan researchers have been awarded $2.2 million from Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC), part of an $8.3 million investment to improve food security with partners in Ethiopia, Nigeria and Benin.  Full story

Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholarships Program Award - University of Saskatchewan researchers received over $400,000 for their project “Community Partnership for Food Security and Health”.  Adil Nazarali (Pharmacy and Nutrition) and co-investigators Claire Card (Veterinary Medicine), Carol Henry (Pharmacy and Nutrition), Bruce Reeder (Medicine), and Ryan Meili (Medicine) will collaborate on this unique international exchange program between U of S and its partner in Uganda, which connects students with community and industry while providing leadership development and campus engagement opportunities.  The project partners are Mbarara University of Science and Technology in Uganda, the Foundation for AIDS Orphaned Children, and Veterinarians without Borders.
