Purpose:
Promote enrichment of teaching (learning) and research (discovery) programmes, strenghten and expand mutual contacts, provide exchange of faculty and other collaboration

Description:
- Faculty exchanges: short term visiting scholars (three months or less), long term visiting scholars (one semester or longer)
- Graduate student exchanges
- Collaborative research (molecular genetics, biotechnology to promote production and reproduction, epidemiology and livestock health, ruminant and poultry nutrition, livestock products technology)

A $ 300,000 “premiere partnership” signed to bolster research and education in public health and the environment. This partnership was signed during MacKinnon’s visit to India Nov 2010. The amount will be used to support research projects, pay for student and faculty travel between the two universities and cover stipends for up to six students from each country.
This is the first to be funded under the new UofS International Partnership Fund, launched in 2009 to create “premiere partnerships” with international universities. The proposal was led by Baljit Singh, professor and acting associate dean, research at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the UofS.
