20 Commitments & Commitment Leaders

What are the 20 commitments?

The University of Saskatchewan’s Second Integrated Plan has three priorities and 20 commitments, as shown in the circle diagram pdf document.  Sixteen commitments are grouped within the three priority areas (pie-shaped pieces around the inner circle), and four commitments are grouped together and called “supporting strategies” because they intersect across all three priorities (four arcs outside the circle).  Each of the commitments is written as an “action statement”, indicating what the U of S will accomplish, or work towards accomplishing, in that specific commitment area.

Who are commitment leaders?

A “commitment leader” is an individual appointed by the Provost to lead or co-lead one of the 20 commitments in the integrated plan. Their job as commitment leader is to connect people and ideas, promote discussion and improvement of the many activities happening in each commitment area, as well as promote and profile these activities to the rest of the university community. Commitment leaders will not work alone, but with key people who will be crucial and active contributors, and with wider circles of others who wish to be involved and informed. These individuals and groups will work together collaboratively (see working model diagram ).
