General Colour Tips
The important thing here is to ensure all text and graphics are
understandable when viewed without colour. Realize that the colours you
see are not necessarily the colours others see on the page, because:
- Not everyone has a colour monitor.
- Some users don't have a monitor at all. Instead they use sound
interfaces, or braille output devices.
- Some colour combinations cause problems for
colour-blind people,
especially combinations of red and green. Testing with a black and white
monitor can help prevent this problem.
- People can override your colour selections for text using settings in
their browsers. You cannot be guaranteed the background, foreground, or
link colours are the colours you use on your browser.
