Testing with your Hardware
There are several things you can do to test web pages using your hardware:
- Use your system's control panels to test different display sizes and
colours.
- Set your monitor to gray-scale (if it has colour adjustments).
- If the page uses multimedia sound or video clips, turn off your
speakers and see if you can still get the important content on your site.
- Use a modem set at 28.8kbps to view your web pages. Often people do
all their testing on their local computer, and don't realize that the
pages take 35 minutes to download on a modem.
- Try navigating your web pages without using a mouse. (In Netscape and
MSIE use [tab] to move between links).
