Online Training Library

Welcome to Online Training Library (a channel in PAWS) using lynda.com for faculty, staff and students at the U of S.

Learn the latest tools and techniques in digital media, design, and development from expert instructors who possess a passion for teaching and present their material in a caring, honest, and unbiased manner. To access this channel, please log into PAWS and access the Online Training Library channel (by default, this should be located on the PD & Training Tab - if not, please add to your PAWS layout).

We are very pleased that you have joined the Online Training Library, and look forward to helping you learn something new every day. The library consists of over 475 topics with over 30,000 professionally-produced Windows- and Macintosh-compatible QuickTime videos. This service is provided to faculty, staff and students at the U of S free of charge and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Please be aware that there are limited accounts available and your time may be limited during peak hours.

Please log out when you are leaving the library, whether you have completed your training or not.

DO NOT CHANGE the usernames or passwords within the lynda.com site. Doing so will result in login errors for others and for yourself.

Because other users are also using the lynda.com accounts, you may see a history of places in the library that have been used by others and certificates of completion are issued to a generic user only.

You will automatically be logged into the Training Library once you have applied for an account within PAWS, as long as an account is available.

APPLYING FOR AN ACCOUNT and LOGGING IN
------------------------------------------------------------------------
You may apply for an account through PAWS on the Online Training Library channel which should be located on the PD & Training Tab by selecting the APPLY button. If an account is avaiable, it will be assigned to you and the APPLY button will change to a LOGIN button. By selecting the LOGIN button, the lynda.com web page automatically loads in your browser. All library titles are available for you to use.
NOTE: After a period of time of inactivity in PAWS, and you are not in the lynda.com library, you will be required to apply for an account again. If one is available, you will be able to login again to the training library. You will not be able to access the entire training library at lynda.com without using the automated login within the Online Training Library channel.

Go to PAWS now.( Access the PD & Training Tab and look for the Online Training Library Channel).

Please refresh your browser page and try to clear your history or cache of the browser if you experience login errors. Please be aware that there are limited accounts available. IF all accounts are in use, try logging in at another time.

The Online Training Library channel should be located on the PD & Training Tab in PAWS. If not, you may add this channel to any tab in your PAWS layout.
