ICT schedules monthly maintenance windows for applying operating system security, performance and stability updates. These maintenance windows are scheduled from 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM, typically the second or third Wednesday of the month.
During these maintenance windows, ICT-provided services are unavailable including, but not limited to:
- PAWS
- Blackboard
- Email, including Exchange, mailing lists, and access to voicemail via Exchange
- SiRIUS & UniFI (Banner)
- File services (Cabinet, Jade, Bermuda, TangoWeb (SSAM/gsis), WinWeb (FMD))
- Print services (Green, CPAS)
- Database hosting (Oracle & MS-SQL)
- U-Who
- U-Friend
- Web Services (Cascade, www, homepage)
- MITS
- CAS
- E-valuation (SEEQ)
- Wiki (Confluence)
- QuestionMark Perception (QMP)
- CVMS
- Matterhorn Lecture Capture
Note: Development and test environments for the aforementioned services are patched before the main systems are done, typically the Tuesday before.
Services that arrange downtimes independent of this schedule are:
- About-Us (HR system)
- Network
Note: To help with end of term work, limited scheduled maintenance is conducted in December and April. The limited maintenance does not interrupt PAWS or U of S Course Tools (Blackboard) which continue to operate during these times.
Non-Exchange email, SiRIUS, UniFi are also unaffected during limited scheduled maintenance.
During limited scheduled maintenance, the following services will be unavailable:
- Exchange Email
- File services (Cabinet, Jade, Bermuda, TangoWeb (SSAM/gsis), WinWeb (FMD), Datashare)
- Print services (Green, CPAS)
- Database hosting (SQL server only)
