PAWS (Personalized Access to Web Services) is your gateway to student services, records, and information customized to meet your needs. Login to PAWS.usask.ca with your NSID username and password and get secure access to campus services like the registration and fee information, e-mail, calendar, course information, BBLearn, etc. You can make your own tabs, add content to existing tabs and organize the content the way you want. All admitted students at the University of Saskatchewan receive a mail.usask.ca e-mail account. You receive 50 MB of space for e-mail with this account. The default address format is nsid@mail.usask.ca but can be personalized using MITS to firstname.lastname@usask.ca. You can access your e-mail account through the Web at paws.usask.ca, Webmail.usask.ca or by using your favorite local e-mail client (e.g., Outlook, Mac Mail, etc.)
Once you graduate, this account automatically converts to an alumni e-mail-for-life account. You will never have to worry about switching Internet service providers and losing your e-mail account.
While you are a student at the U of S you are responsible for reading and attending to e-mail sent to your U of S e-mail address. Your professors may send you e-mail with important information about your classes and the University administration will send messages with timely, sometimes critical, announcements. If you prefer to use a different e-mail service, you must be sure to forward your "mail.usask.ca" messages. More on E-mail »
Cabinet provides, secure and backed-up file storage services to U of S students. You can access your files from home or on campus. More on File Storage Service »
Use your personal Campus Print Administration Service (CPAS) account to print on a variety of printers campus wide. More on Printing »
Blackboard Learning System (formerly WebCT) provides online tools for use with classes. It adds a number of things to the web like discussion forums, online quizzes, and so on. All your courses are available through PAWS. If your instructor is using Blackboard for a particular class, you will be linked there automatically. More on Blackboard Learning System »
The PAWS Calendar is a web-based calendar provided free to U of S students. It enables you to access and manage your daily, weekly and monthly schedules and coordinate events with others at the U of S anywhere, anytime. More on Calendar »
Wikis are important educational and collaboration tools through which students and instructors, can participate in developing and sharing knowledge locally (or globally) using the web. The objective in using a wiki is to collaboratively build a shared repository of knowledge, with the knowledge base growing over time. A well-known example of a successful wiki is Wikipedia. As part of ICT's electronic communications strategy, blog hosting service's are provided as an effective means for the distribution of information. This service is provided to you to help develop skills in collaborating and communicating with your peers, friends, family, etc. More on Blogs »

Software is available from a variety of locations for downloading. This software is free for registered students. Students also qualify for special discounted pricing on some commercial software through the Campus Computer Store. More on Software Downloads »
If your computer requires repair or maintenance you can have this done on campus by going to Technical Services. More on Computer Repair »
Terminal Services enables students and faculty to access applications from their personal laptop, computer or portable device (e.g., iPad) from home or on campus. This means that you don't always have to go to a computer lab to use some applications. More on Terminal Services »
