Please be aware that staff who require the Java Runtime Environment on their desktops can now upgrade to Version 7 Update 45.
Testing has confirmed that Version 7 Update 45 works with SiRIUS Plus, UniFi Plus, UFriend and other administrative systems that require the Java Runtime.
If you need assistance updating your java, please contact the ICT Help Desk.
Installation instructions will differ depending on how your desktops are supported:
For ICT managed desktops, (this will include the main Advancement staff and most of the colleges), this will be installed automatically beginning November 6th, 2013.
Windows 32bit Operating Systems*: Please install the 32bit version
Windows 64bit Operating Systems*: Please install the 32bit version plus the 64bit version to ensure all web browsers will function correctly.

Intel-based Mac running Mac OS X 10.7.3 (Lion) or later.
Administrator privileges for installation*
*Note that installing Java on a Mac is performed on a system wide basis, for all users, and administrator privileges are required. You cannot install Java on a single-user basis.
**A 64-bit browser (Safari or Firefox, for example) is required to run Java 7 on Mac OS X. 32-bit browsers such as Chrome do not support Java 7 on the Mac platform.
Apple OS 10.7.3 - 10.9 Java Download: Java Version 7 Update 45
There is no Version 7 Update 45 available. To obtain java for Apple OS 10.4-10.6 computers, please use Apple Software Updates .
NOTE: The minimum required version for Unifi and Sirius Plus is Java Version 6 Update 45. With Java Version 6, though, there will be limited support. Therefore, ICT recommends upgrading to Apple OS Mavericks (10.9) where possible.
