ITS provides colleges, departments and units with a customized approach for planning, installation, management and support of personal computers and mobile technology. Desktop services are provided for a fee which is based on the unique needs of each client.
IT Desktop Planning, Management and Support
Desktop services help you reduce cost and risk by:
- Advising in the design, selection, and implementation of cost-effective personal computer and mobile technology solutions.
- Facilitating the use of University IT services and standards to ensure data is accessible and secure.
- Providing proactive desktop management to keep your systems operational and minimize downtime.
- Delivering on-site and remote support as you pursue your teaching, research and administrative activities.
- Maintaining and managing the desktop computing environments for teaching labs and research facilities
- Ensuring secure disposal of surplus desktop computing equipment in accordance with University policy

Desktop services solutions are customized to your unique needs. ITS will work with you to identify which approach is the "right fit." Ongoing support relationships with ITS can take many forms:
- IT planning assistance and comprehensive support services provided through contractual arrangements
- Discipline specific IT support provided to colleges and departments through short and long term IT staff assignments
- Desktop technology management arrangements for teaching and research facilities
- On-site service and remote support (often referred to as a "house call") on a per incident basis
