In the absence of central funding to cover the costs for providing this service, SharePoint will be offered on a fee-for-service basis. The service fees are comparable to or lower than fees charged by off campus providers. In the future, ITS would like to offer this service without a service fee. Until then, a fee-for-service offering reduces total university costs compared to having multiple, independent SharePoint services in colleges and departments.
The annual SharePoint service rates for 2011/12 are as outlined below:
| 1st - 50th employee | $100/employee |
| 51st - 150th employee | $75/employee |
| 151st employee and up | $50/employee |
Note: 1 Gig of quota space is included per paid employee.
The above fee structure assumes all users have the Microsoft SharePoint and Windows CALs (Client Access Licenses) as part of their college or departmental Microsoft Campus Agreement. If not, an additional $10/user will be charged to cover the cost of those client access licenses. For more information about the Microsoft Campus Agreement, please contact the Campus Computer Store.
Students who are also employees (not employees who are students) and using SharePoint as part of their employment duties will be exempt from ITS SharePoint service fees. Employees who are members of multiple units or committees will pay once to use SharePoint.
The fee structure will be reviewed each fiscal year.
Billing will take place at the beginning of each fiscal quarter (May 1, Aug 1, Nov 1, Feb 1). It will be based on expected usage (number of users) for that quarter. The customer will be contacted with:
The customer will be asked to provide the expected number of users for the upcoming quarter.
For new customers, the billing for the starting quarter will be prorated and based on the estimated number of employees who will have access.
Customers that wish to cancel their SharePoint subscription must give 3 months notice. The site collection(s) will be be made unavailable at the start of the following quarter.
