The University of Saskatchewan provides a number of services to support e-learning on campus. ICT provides a number of e-learning services. In addition, some colleges and units provide e-learning services.
Services, Tools and Resources
- U of S Course Tools (Blackboard) - An electronic course management system for distance education and face to face courses that can be used to distribute course materials, communicate with students, help organize students, facilitate student group work, deliver online quizzes and exams and manage student marks.
- Clickers - Instant feedback tool that can be used in a classroom setting to poll a group of students or perform an assessment of the understanding of the group.
- Course Evaluations - ICT provides assistance with e-evaluations. Instructors can easily gather anonymous student feedback as cumulative and summative.
- Lecture Capture - describes technologies instructors can use to record voice and data projector content and make those recordings available digitally.
- Quizzes, examinations and final grade entry - Can facilitate teaching by making it easier for instructors to deliver and grade assessments. Some electronic quizzes and examinations provide immediate feedback to students. Technology can be used for exam processing, student evaluations and data collection using bubble sheets to collect information and compile results.
- Rich Media Storage - Allows for easy upload and secure audio or video files, that may be shared or made available to select groups.
- Survey System - Allows instructor or students to create anonymous surveys for class projects, or as evaluation of course
- Training - for faculty, staff and students in various e-learning software.
