ITS Help Desk

Contact the ITS Help Desk for assistance with everything up to and including getting successfully logged into your course. This includes assistance with:

• properly configuring your web browser
• adding and configuring browser plug-ins
• network connectivity problems
• forgotten usernames or passwords

Instructors

Once you have successfully logged into a course, any further assistance should be obtained from your course instructor. If necessary, your instructor will contact ITS for further assistance. Examples of when you would contact your instructor include:

• You find a broken link in the course.
• You find problems on course content, including things like spelling mistakes or information that is confusing.
• You have concerns regarding the wording of assignments or quiz questions.
• The instructor says something is in the course (content, quiz, assignment) and you cannot find it.
• You have questions about the course content, class times, or other course specific information.
• You have problems using a specific tool, like the discussion forum, chat, assignments, quizzes, etc.
• You do not agree with marks assigned to you and wish to dispute them.

Blackboard Help System

Every Blackboard CE 6 page has a "help" link in the top right corner of the page. Use this to find detailed assistance for the activity you are currently performing in the course. For example, if you are in the discussion tool, it will provide help on using the discussion tool. If you are using the chat, it will provide help with chat.

Blackboard Student Tutorial

A student tutorial for how to used Blackboard CE 6 (BB CE 6) is available. This tutorial requires self-registration.

To register for the WebCT Student Tutorial:

1. Go to http://webct6.usask.ca/.
2. Click on "Course List."
3. Click on "! Start Here."
4. Click on the green arrow  to expand the list of tutorial courses.
5. Click on the  image in the WebCT Student Tutorial row.
6. Register in the tutorial by entering your NSID username and password.

To take the tutorial, log in to BB CE 6.

Blackboard CE 6 Orientation for Instructors and Designers

This is an online user group for CE 6 instructors and designers. It contains tutorials, discussions, and other support for people using CE 6 for instruction.

Anyone with a valid NSID can self-register for this user group using the following steps:

1. Go to http://webct6.usask.ca/.
2. Click on "Course List."
3. Click on "! Start Here."
4. Click on the green arrow  to expand the list of tutorial courses. Find the course called "! Blackboard CE 6 Orientation for Instructors and Designers.
5. Click on the  beside "! Blackboard CE 6 Orientation for Instructors and Designers."
6. Register in the tutorial by entering your NSID username and password.

To take the tutorial, log in to BB CE 6 and select the "!Blackboard CE 6 Orientation for Instructors and Designers" course.
