Troubleshooting
Step 1: Ensure
you have followed the best practices for videoconferencing. For example, simply updating
the software on your unit to the most recent version can eliminate many
problems. If you contact ITS or
EMAP for help this is usually one of the first questions we will ask. Also check the manufacturer websites
below for the most current version of software for your unit.
Step 2: See our troubleshooting guide for more troubleshooting options
Step 3: When
using the reflector sites, always use multiple test sites and make sure you
contact both the on campus test site and a number of off-campus test
sites. This will help narrow down
any problems that might occur.
Keep notes regarding what works and what doesn’t. For example, if you try only one test site and cannot connect to it, we don’t
know if it is a problem with that test site, an incompatibility between your
unit and the test site unit or a network issue.
Step 4: Once you have gone through the steps
above, if you are still having problems please Contact Us.
