Overview
Web conferencing systems like Blackboard Collaborate enable people to hold "virtual" meetings or lectures on the Internet. Using a multimedia-capable computer, an Internet connection, and an optional web camera (webcam) and microphone, people can attend meetings or lectures from their own offices or homes.
Available to
Faculty, staff and students at the U of S may use the Collaborate web conferencing service for U of S-related scholarship, research and business. These activities can include persons or groups that may not be part of the University of Saskatchewan.

Requirements
- To host or own a meeting room, the owner/host must be a faculty member, a staff member or a student at the U of S
- Technical requirements include:
- High Speed Internet connection
- Moderately up-to-date computer
- Recent version of Java installed
- Microphone and speakers/USB Headset
- Web Cam (Optional)
Data security restrictions
- There may be additional security requirements like access to specific firewall ports or access to run/install applications on the specific computer you are using, depending on your environment (ie, if you work on a secured computer in a sensitive environment like a hospital or government agency)
