When the migration of your email, calendar, and address book data has completed, you will receive one last email message in your old U of S Email mailbox to notify you of the status of your migration. If the migration was successful, this message will provide you with information on how to begin using your new U of S Email and Calendar mailbox. In the unlikely event that the migration of your data encountered an error, this message will indicate that an error has occurred and an ICT support person will attempt to contact you.
You can also check on the status of your mailbox migration by logging in to MITS and clicking on the 'Migrate your email' link.
After your email, calendar and address book data has been migrated to the new U of S Email and Calendar service, you may need to reconfigure email client software to use the new service.
If you use PAWS to access your email and calendar, you will now see an 'Email and Calender' icon to replace the old 'Email' and 'Calendar' icons and the Email channel. Just click on the new 'Email and Calendar' icon to begin using the new service! Unfortunately, we are unable to transfer your PAWS signature, blocked senders, and filters so may want to re-configure these settings.
If you use WebMail to access your email, you should now start to use Outlook Web App to access your new U of S Email and Calendar mailbox. This is the quickest way to check out the new service... just go to https://campus.usask.ca. You may want to export and import your WebMail Address Book. You may also want to configure your signature and filters on your new U of S Email and Calendar service.
If you use a mobile device such as a Blackberry, iPhone, iPad, Android phone or tablet, or a Windows Phone, please refer to the setup guides for mobile devices for information on how to reconfigure your device to access your U of S Email and Calendar mailbox.
If you use an email client on your desktop or laptop computer, please refer to the setup guides for Windows clients and the setup guides for Macintosh clients for information on how to reconfigure your email client to use the new service. For all other email clients, there is some general setup information for configuring your client software to access your U of S Email and Calendar mailbox.
This may be the time to consider switching to a different email client.
You may also want to move local email folders up to your U of S Email and Calendar mailbox now that you have a larger quota.
You may also want to import address book information from your local email client into your U of S Email and Calendar Contacts folder.
If you are using Microsoft Outlook on Windows and you have on-campus voicemail, you should install the Cisco Unity Viewmail plug-in for Outlook.
