What if I'm already an Exchange user?

If you were already an Exchange user prior to November 14th, there are a few things you should know:

• The U of S Email and Calendar service is based on Microsoft Exchange 2010 so you are already using the new service!
• All Exchange users still need to go through the migration process even if you have no messages in the old U of S Email service (mail.usask.ca). During the migration, your nsid@mail.usask.ca address will be moved over to your Exchange mailbox

• If you have a forwarding between Exchange and mail.usask.ca, the migration process will remove that forwarding.
• If you have personalized email aliases such as firstname.lastname@usask.ca for either your Exchange or mail.usask.ca address, after the migration those aliases will remain but will now be aliases for your Exchange mailbox
• When you self-select a migration date, you will also be prompted to select whether to have your old U of S Email mailbox data migrated into a sub-folder of your Exchange mailbox OR merged into your Exchange mailbox.
• Note that for current Exchange users, we do NOT migrate your PAWS calendar and address book entries in order to avoid creating duplicates of what you may already have in your Exchange mailbox.

If you are an Edwards School of Business Exchange user, there are several additional considerations:

• Do NOT self-select a migration date. We are working with the Edwards IT support staff to schedule your migration. Your Edwards Exchange mailbox will be moved onto the U of S Email and Calendar service prior to the migration of any data or settings from the old U of S Email service. Please, contact your IT support staff if you have further questions
• As described by the illustration above, once the migration is complete, you will have one mailbox instead of two. However, you will continue to have your lastname@edwards.usask.ca email address in addition to nsid@campus.usask.ca and nsid@mail.usask.ca. All three email addresses will be hosted on your U of S Email and Calendar service Exchange mailbox
