With the new U of S Email and Calendar service, ICT is providing updated tools both for the ongoing support of users as well as tools for monitoring the migration. All of these tools are provided from the Identity and Access Management (IAM) site: http://iam.usask.ca.
For discussions related to the process of the migration IT Support staff may subscribe to exchange_it_support@usask.ca (please continue to direct all problems and issues to help.desk@usask.ca). To subscribe to exchange_it_support@usask.ca, go to:
http://listman.usask.ca/subscriptions/manage_page.php?listname=exchange_it_support&action=subscribe
If you have questions about the migration process or you're wondering if other IT support people have solutions for an email issue that you've run into, this list is the place to go.
Using IAM, IT support staff can select a migration date on behalf of users or modify an existing date selection. Employees will be able to self-select a date for migrating their old email, PAWS calendar, and addressbook data to their new U of S Email and Calendar mailbox on Exchange. As a support with access to IAM you can do this on their behalf or edit the choice they have made.
If you would like to schedule a group of employees from a department or college to be migrated over one or more specific days, send your request to iam.support@usask.ca with the following information:
To check the status of a specific user's migration, use http://iam.usask.ca and return to the 'Migration' link as described above.
To receive email results from the nightly migrations, IT support staff can subscribe to the 'exchangemig-alerts@usask.ca' mailing list here:
http://listman.usask.ca/subscriptions/manage_page.php?listname=exchangemig-alerts&action=subscribe
After each batch of migrations are processed, an email is sent to this list summarizing the results by listing the users whose migration failed as well as those whose migration succeeded. In the email there is a link to a folder containing the logs from the the migration so that IT Support staff can determine what errors occurred during a failed migration.
