Although its not a requirement, we do encourage you to clean up any un-needed messages from your mailbox.
If you use PAWS Email, you may want to note your PAWS signature, blocked senders, and filters as we are unable to transfer these settings to the new service. If you have multiple PAWS calendars, please refer to the information on how to import additional calendars into the new U of S Email and Calender service.
If you use Webmail and have contact addresses in Webmail, you may want to export your contacts. Please, refer to this information on how to export address book entries from Webmail.
If you use your email client to open additional shared mailboxes, you should consult with your local IT Support or contact the ICT Help Desk for assistance with planning for your migration.
During your scheduled migration, an automatic migration process will:
The old U of S Email service will continue to remain operational throughout the migrations. Incoming email will continue to be delivered into your old U of S Email mailbox until the migration of your mailbox begins. At that point in time, your incoming messages will start to be delivered into your new U of S Email and Calendar mailbox.
You may continue to read your email before, during, and after the migration of your mailbox.
Although, you will also be able to send or delete or move messages during the migration period, we recommend that you avoid doing so. If you move a folder or message during the migration, it is possible that the folder or message will be missed during the migration. If you send a message after the migration has begun, the copy that is placed into your 'Sent' folder on the old U of S Email service may not be migrated to the new Email service.
Once you have received a message in your old U of S Email mailbox indicating that your mailbox migration is complete, then you are free to access your new U of S Email and Calendar mailbox.
