The Set-up for Outlook Express 6.0 is a two-part process.
Part 1: Initial Account Set up
1. Run the Outlook Express program. (Figure 1.)
(Running Outlook Express for the first time will automatically* start the Account Wizard.)
a. Click "Start"
b. Select "All Programs"
c. Click "Outlook Express"

As shown below in Figure 2:
2. Enter in your full name in the "Display name:" field.
3. Click "Next."

As shown below in Figure 3:
4. Type in your full E-mail address.
5. Click "Next."

6. Set "My incoming mail server is a" to "IMAP" server. (Figure 4.)

As shown below in Figure 5:
7. Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server: mail.usask.ca
8. Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: smtp.usask.ca
9. Click "Next."

As shown below in Figure 6:
10. The "Account name:" should automatically be filled in by the wizard, if not then type in your NSID (abc123 username).
11. Enter in your e-mail password.
12. Uncheck the "Remember password" box. Note: checking this box will enable anybody using your computer to access to your e-mail.
13. Click "Next."

14. Click "Finish." (Figure 7.)

15. Outlook Express will automatically search your account for folders click "Yes." (Figure 8.)

16. Outlook Express will subscribe all e-mail folders automatically. When the list has finished being created, click "OK" to continue. (Figure 9.)

As shown below in Figure 1:
1. Click on the "Tools" pull-down menu.
2. Select "Accounts."

As shown below in Figure 2:
3. Make sure that the mail.usask.ca account is highlighted.
4. Click on the "Properties" button.

As shown below in Figure 3:
5. Click on the Tab called "Servers."
6. Check box the "My server requires authentication."

As shown below in Figure 4:
7. Click on the "Advanced" tab.
8. Under the Outgoing mail (SMTP): check the "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" box. Please Note: Change "Port" to 587.
9. Under the Incoming mail (IMAP): check the "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" box.
10. Click "Apply."
11. Click "OK."

12. Click "Yes" to refresh folder list. (Figure 5.)

Outlook Express Secure E-mail set up is complete.
