Permissions for access to Jade are managed by departmental IT support staff in collaboration with the ICT Windows Consulting group.
When a new department purchases disk space on Jade in consultation with the ICT Desktop Support group, ICT Desktop Support staff will design and specify a directory structure and permission groups for protecting the directories. The specifications are sent to the ICT Windows Consulting group who will then create the required disk partition, permission groups and directory structure and then apply the specified permissions to the top level directories of the directory structure.
The departmental IT support staff or the ICT Desktop Support group can be delegated permission to perform further customization to directory permissions as part of their ongoing support of the department.
