NOTE: If you are accessing your Cabinet share from off campus you will need to use the Off-Campus File Service Gateway method, or first establish a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection to campus each time you access the drive.
- Click Start in the bottom left hand corner of your screen.
- Choose My Computer.
- Click Tools > Map Network Drive
- Select a letter to be designated as the drive (do not use the same letter that appears when connecting a USB device such as a memory stick).
- In the Folder box insert \\cabinet.usask.ca\work$\abc123 (where abc123 is your NSID).
- Ensure that the Reconnect at Logon option is checked (if left unchecked the process of mapping will need to be done each time you disconnect from Cabinet).
- Click Finish.
Your computer will now attempt to "Map" to your Cabinet directory:
You may be asked for a username and password if you are not yet authenticated to the usask domain. If you see the below password dialogue box:
- For your User name, enter: USASK\abc123 (where abc123 is your NSID).
- For your password, enter your NSID password. If you do not know your NSID and password, please contact the ICT Help Desk.
- Check off the Remember my password check box.
- Then press OK.
If you are already authenticated to the usask domain, you will see the following window for Cabinet:
Your Cabinet drive will now be accessible by opening your "My Computer" icon. Under My Computer you will now have a Network Drive for cabinet.usask.ca that you can use to store your files:
