Instructors, researchers, employees and students can access U of S file storage services from their own computers by "mapping" or "mounting" a drive to Cabinet. This simple, one-time operation will give you immediate access to Cabinet every time you start up your computer and connect to the U of S network.

Map a Drive for On-Campus Access

Choose your operating system:

• Windows (Map a Drive)
• Macintosh (Connect to Server)
• Linux

In order to map a drive, you will need to connect to the U of S network either by a wired or wireless connection.

Map a Drive for Off-Campus Access

To map a drive for access to Cabinet from off campus you have two choices:

• Use the Off-Campus File Service Gateway. 
• Alternatively, if you have a Virtual Private Network (VPN) established with the campus network you may map a drive to Cabinet as though you were on campus (above) and then use it both on and off campus.

Note: If you do not want to map a drive, PAWS can be used to access Cabinet from on or off campus.
