Step 1
Click on the System Preferences icon in your dock:

Click open the Software Update icon under System:

Under Update Software tab, press Check Now:

Your OS will do a scan and list updates available. Pick the one you want to install and put check marks in the corresponding boxes, then press Install Now :

To list all the updates installed on your system, press the Installed Updates Tab:

Click on the System Preferences icon in your dock

Click open the Software Update icon under System
Step 3
Under Update Software tab, put a check in the box for Check for updates
Step 4
Now select the frequency that you want auto-scanning to occur. We recommend selecting Daily
Step 5
You are done and can now close the Software Update window.
