Student, instructor, researcher and employee network-capable devices must be registered before they can be connected to the University wired or wireless networks. This includes desktop computers, laptops and wireless devices (e.g. PDAs).
Wired Network
In order to connect to the University wired network you must register your wired device (computer or laptop). In addition, all computers and laptops must have proper security installed (e.g. anti-virus software, passwords, Windows updates, etc.). If you are unsure about the security of your computer/device do not connect it to the network. Please contact the ITS Help Desk for assistance.
Wireless Network
In order to connect to the University wireless network you must ensure your security settings are up to date, configure your computer for the PEAP security protocol and install the Cisco Clean Access agent (Windows operating systems). Cisco Clean Access is software that helps protect the network. The Windows wireless set-up guide and Macintosh wireless set-up guide will take you through the necessary steps. Please contact the ITS Help Desk if you want to use other operating systems (e.g. Linux, UNIX, PDAs) on the wireless network.
