Configuring "guest" Wireless for Mac OS 10.5.x , 10.6.x and 10.7

Step 1.

Click the Apple icon in the top menu and select System Preferences.

Step 2.

Click Network from System Preferences.

Step 3.

Select Airport in the left menu

press the Advanced button:

Step 4.

Click the + button to add a preferred network.

Step 5.

• For Network Name enter: guest 
• For Wireless Security select None 
• Press the OK button.

Step 6. 

Press the Apply Now button 

Step 7.

After your Airport Card connects to the guest network, (as indicated by the bold Airport icon in the top menu) open up a web browser (such as Safari).

Step 8.

Your browser will redirect to the U of S Wireless Access Authentication page.

• Conference guests: please use your conference ID username and password.

• Non-conference guests: please enter the following username and password:

Please note: Wireless traffic is not protected on this network and may be seen by others. It is your responsibility to take steps to protect your information. Establish a VPN or enable other security measures as appropriate.
