Installing the Cisco Anyconnect software for 32bit and 64bit versions of Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 requires Administrator privileges.

1. Download and install the VPN software
It is recommended that you close all other Windows applications before you begin the installation.
1. Download the Anyconnect VPN software from:

2. Double click on the anyconnect-win-3-1.1.01065.msi file to begin the installation
3. The Installation Wizard welcome screen will appear. Click the Next button to continue
5. Select "I accept the terms in this license agreement" then press the Next button.
6. Click Install to install the software.
7. Click Yes when asked if you want to allow the installer to run.
8. Once the VPN Client software has been installed, click the Finish button to exit the Installation Wizard.

2. Configure the VPN Client Software
1. Open the Anyconnect Secure Mobility Client program from the All Programs list on the Windows/Start Menu.
2. a. For the "Connect to" text box type in:
tunnel.usask.ca
b. Then press the Connect button.
3. Enter your information as below:
- For Group Select 1-UofS
- For Username use your NSID username
- For Password use your NSID password
4. Press OK
5. When connected you should see a connection bubble as below:

1. To disconnect, click the lock icon in the bottom task tray:

Additional Information
The VPN client is set-up in split tunneling mode, meaning only traffic destined for the University network (IP addresses beginning with 128.233.) will go through the VPN tunnel. All other traffic will go through your existing internet connection.
The VPN Client includes an integrated firewall to protect the VPN Client PC from internet attacks while connected.
If your PC is protected by a firewall (Kerio, ZoneAlarm etc) you may need to adjust it's settings to allow the VPN Client to communicate with the campus VPN server. How this is accomplished will depend on the firewall you have installed.
The ports that Cisco VPN uses are TCP 10,000 , UDP 4500 and UDP 62515.
