The U of S VPN access is available to current instructors, researchers, employees and students. The U of S VPN is a secure network connection between a client's personal computer and the University over a public network such as the Internet.
The U of S VPN will be necessary for current U of S, instructors, researchers, employees and students who are off-campus and need to access restricted campus resources over their commercial ISP (e.g. Shaw or Sasktel). After authenticating with the VPN server, remote computers are part of the U of S campus network even though they are operating at a distance.
The University of Saskatchewan Computer Use Policy applies to all communications and accesses made over the VPN connection. You must ensure your home computer is secure.
Failure to address these areas leaves your computer and the campus vulnerable to attack:
1. Know your Network Services ID username and password.
2. Use one of the two following methods to connect to tunnel.usask.ca:
(Option A) Download and install the U of S VPN client software:
(Option B) Use the Clientless SSL Virtual Private Network (VPN) Portal, located at https://tunnel.usask.ca , if you cannot install the U of S VPN client software onto your device.
3. Connect to the U of S VPN service, tunnel.usask.ca, using your NSID username and password.
