This VPN software is Universal for Mac OS 10.2.x and higher runs on any PowerPC or Intel-based Macintosh (i.e. Macbook, Macbook Pro, iMac Core Duo/Core 2 Duo, and MacPro).
This software is controlled by license and is to be used for connecting to the University of Saskatchewan only. Use of this software for any other purpose or providing it to a third party under any conditions is prohibited.
To use the U of S VPN service your Network Services ID (NSID) must be added to the VPN user list. Please contact your local IT support staff or the ITS Help Desk.

This VPN software is Universal for Mac OS 10.2.x or higher and requires 30 MB of free hard disk space.
You must also have administrator privileges on your computer.
The U of S VPN Client software is available from the VPN website and is delivered as a disk image file.
You will be asked for your NSID to login to the download area for this software. The file should be downloaded to your desktop. (see Figure 1)

2. In most cases the file will be processed and ready for you to use but if not you will have to double-click on the "installciscovpn.dmg" icon on your desktop or downloads folder. The disk image will 'mount' and the CiscoVPNInstaller disk will appear on your desktop (Figure 2). The disk image file also remains on your desktop.

You MUST uninstall any previous versions of the VPN client prior to installing a new version. The uninstall process can be completed by double-clicking the "uninstall_VPN.command" file on the CiscoVPNInstaller disk. (Figure 3.) You will be asked for your administrator password
1. On your desktop, locate the CiscoVPNInstaller disk icon, (Figure 2) double-click it to open and view the contents.
2. Double-click, the installer icon "Cisco VPN Install" (Figure 3).

The authentication window will appear (see Figure 4). You must have an administrator password on your computer to install the VPN client application.

3. Enter your administrator username (if not already entered) and password.
4. Click OK.
If the authentication was successfull, the installation process continues. If you cannot authenticate for installation, please contact your locat IT suppor staff or contact the ITS Help Desk (966-4817).
During the installation, a progress bar indicates the process is continuing (see Figure 5). The installation process can take a few minutes to complete.

Once the installation process is complete the "VPNClient" application will be launched. (see Figure 6)

You will see the connection window to initiate a connection to the University Virtual Private Network. (see Figure 7)

1. Open the VPN client application (Figure 6).
2. The Cisco VPN Client connect window (Figure 7) will appear. Make sure that the "uofs" is selected in the drop down list and click Connect.
3. The Cisco VPN Client will start to connect to the University tunneling server and then prompt you for your NSID and password. (Figure 8) You can now connect to servers on campus as if you were connected on campus yourself.
Note: You cannot connect from a computer that is already on the campus network.

4. To disconnect from the Vitual Private Network, click on the VPN client window in the dock, or on the connection window and click on the Disconnect button. (Figure 9)
