The following official University groups may apply to have their elections run through PAWS:
- Student Societies
- Student Unions and Associations
- University Council
- University Senate
- Board of Governors
Responsibilities and Timelines
To guarantee that the PAWS team can accommodate your election request, please contact us at least one week in advance of the election start. You must either be able to accurately define your voter selection criteria (for example, all students in a particular college)
or provide a complete list of eligible voters.
Polls will open at 9:00 a.m. on election start date, and close at 4:00 p.m.
on election end date, unless special circumstances require alternate
times. All alternate poll opening and closing times must be approved
before the election starts.
One Week Before Election
- Notify PAWS of your upcoming election
- Provide voter selection criteria
Three Days Before Election
- Provide list of positions and candidates
- Provide URL of candidate biographies
- Provide complete voters list if required
- Send your announcement request adverting election to voters to
. Announcements must include:
- Subject (60 characters or fewer, including spaces)
- Message providing details about election (e.g. how long it will be active, etc.)
- From "signature" (e.g. Jane Doe, society name and position)
Election
- The Vote tab will appear in PAWS for all eligible voters and remain active until the close of the election.
- The PAWS team will email the election results to you following the close of the election.
There is no cost for the online election service. Requests from non-qualifying groups will not be considered.
