Although the Network Print Service is easy to set up and use, there may be times when problems occur. ICT's professional staff will help you to diagnose whether the problem is at your desktop, on the network print server, or at the printer itself.
Here are some things that you can check before you contact the ICT Help Desk:
- Check the "Status" column in the printer display (see Managing Submitted Print Jobs).
- If you are unable to open the network print queue.
- a. Check your network connectivity. Can you see Green? (Try Start -> Run and type in \\green).
- b. Try removing and re-adding the printer (see Network Printer Access Set-up Guide).
- Check the status of the Network Print Service by going to the Print Services status page.
- Check if other users can print to the same printer.
- a. If others cannot print, try turning the printer off and then back on.
- b. If others can print, try rebooting your computer.
