The University Telephone System has its own "966" exchange. Four-digit dialling is available on the "966" exchange.
Placing Calls
To On-campus Numbers
- Listen for the dial tone
- Dial the four-digit extension number for number that begin "966"
- Dial "9" plus the seven-digit number for campus numbers that do not begin with "966" (e.g. Saskatchewan Research Center, Canadian Light Source, National Research Center, Royal University Hospital, etc.)
To Off-campus Numbers
- Listen for the dial tone
- Dial "9" and listen for the second dial tone
- Dial the number
To Long Distance Numbers
Station-to-Station long distance calls are allowed. The University Operator will not place long distance calls.
Receiving Calls On Campus
Off-campus callers should dial directly to the party required not through the University Operator. Provide off-campus people with your campus number so they can call you directly.
Campus personnel should answer their own telephones wherever possible, so that callers have as few interceptions as possible.
