Many people find voicemail an indispensable part of working at the U of S. Voicemail's privacy, confidentiality, and easy accessibility make it a very useful communication tool with persons both inside and outside the University. ITS Telephone Services provides voicemail services to the University community for a small monthly fee; to subscribe to voicemail, complete the online telephone service order form.
Cisco Unity Voicemail provides two types of voicemail messaging:
Integrated Messaging provides access to voicemail from a phone and from an IMAP e-mail client (e.g. PAWS, Netscape, Thunderbird, Safari, etc.). When configured correctly, the IMAP e-mail client will create an inbox for voicemail that is separate from the inbox for your e-mail service (e.g. mail.usask.ca). This new inbox will contain your voicemail messages.
Unified Messaging, available to people who use the Exchange service, provides access to voicemail from a phone, from Microsoft Outlook and Entourage e-mail clients configured for Exchange, and from Microsoft Outlook Web Access. With Unified Messaging, voicemail messages appear in the same inbox as your e-mail messages.
