ICT is replacing the Meridian Mail voicemail system with the Cisco Unity Mail system; instructions for the Cisco Unity Mail system are described below.
Once you have accessed the voicemail system, you can create up to five greetings:
Log on to your mailbox.
To record or re-record your standard greeting using your phone, dial 411.
To turn on your alternate greeting using your phone, dial 412.
To edit other greetings, dial 413.
To play all greetings, dial 414.
For help with the menu options, dial 0.
To exit the greetings menu press the * key.
In addition, you can record, enable and review your greetings from within the Cisco Unity Personal Communications Assistant.
You can create a recorded name that will play with messages that you leave for other voicemail subscribers. It will also play with any greetings that use the system default recording instead of a personal recording. If you do not create a recorded name, it will play your extension number.
To change your recorded name, dial 432.
In addition, you can record and review your recorded name from within the Cisco Unity Personal Communications Assistant.
Your greeting should be specific and updated regularly (for some, this may be daily). Including your name and department as well as the day and date is very helpful. This lets the caller know that you are in and have accessed your voicemail. Customize your personal greeting. Callers will feel more comfortable when they hear a familiar voice and will be encouraged to leave you a message.
It is helpful if you take a moment to draft a greeting prior to recording your message. A system greeting will play until you have recorded your greeting(s). You may change your personal greeting as often as you wish.
A personalized greeting should include:
