On occasion, you may want or need to reply to or forward your voicemail. This can be done using your phone, and in some cases using your e-mail client.
After you have listened to a message:
It is not possible to use the reply function for voicemail messages from callers who are not on the Unity Voicemail system at the U of S.
If your e-mail client has been configured to access your voicemail, you can reply to and forward voicemail messages using your e-mail client. The options available are different for Integrated Messaging and Unified Messaging.
Reply
If your voicemail has come from someone who uses Integrated Messaging or Unified Messaging, it is possible to reply to that voicemail with a text-based e-mail message from within your e-mail client. The message in the inbox will show a person's name in the "From" field if the person leaving the message uses Unity Voicemail. If it is from someone who does not use Unity Voicemail, "Unity Messaging System - UNITY1" will appear in the "From" field.
Please Note: When a text-based reply is accessed using a phone by an Integrated Messaging subscriber, the voicemail system will attempt to read the message to the subscriber.
Forward
Voicemail can be forwarded as an e-mail with a WAV sound file attachment. You can add a text-based e-mail message that will be sent with the WAV file.
