Use a blog whenever you want to post articles on a regular basis for the world to see. The blog allows you to easily create these articles‚ and automatically indexes these articles by date and categories. Some example uses include:
You can use blogs in PAWS courses or groups. The easiest way to use blogs from PAWS courses or groups is to visit your PAWS course or group and use the "Manage Links" tool to add a link to the blog. Once the link is in PAWS‚ you can then use the "Manage Homepage" tool to make it a featured link prominently displayed on the group or course homepage.
A process is currently in development to allow RSS files to be displayed as a channel within PAWS.
You can use blogs in your WebCT course. The easiest way to use blogs in your WebCT course is to simply link to the blog. This can be done by adding a link inside a webpage‚ or using WebCT’s "Add URL" tool from the Add Page or Tool section of your WebCT designer option pages.
Another alternative is to use RSS files to add the blog headlines to the course. Create a webpage containing the RSS feed file code‚ and then link to that from your WebCT course. You can also include the RSS feed file JavaScript code in an "Upper text block” or “Lower text block” from your WebCT designer option pages.
